How Are We Making A Difference?

Pearl River Outreach, Inc. is committed to providing professional medical training to the staff and foster parents of the orphanages in China. Our training will focus on basic infant and child growth and development, safety, CPR, basic first-aid, and the care of "special needs" children. All training will be conducted by doctors or nurses. Our team of medical professionals has created a comprehensive training program and has seen tremendous success in the development of the children in several orphanages throughout China following our training programs.

The training provided by our team of medical professionals is two-fold. First, Pearl River Outreach will train foster parents and orphanage staff to be able to identify children who are not developing normally. Second, we will empower both foster parents and orphanage staff with the knowledge of specific interventions that they themselves can implement. These interventions will help the children to be more developmentally on target.

Pearl River Outreach will work in partnership with adoption agencies and act independently to implement foster care programs throughout China. Pearl River Outreach believes that every child deserves a home and foster care programs have many benefits. Foster care programs provide a healthy, loving, and nurturing environment that will enable children to establish a bond with their foster parents. It is not uncommon for a foster family to fall completely in love with the child that has been placed in their home and decide to pursue adoption. Foster programs also lower the child-to-caregiver ratio in the orphanages, thus allowing the nannies to provide more individualized attention to the children remaining in the orphanage.
